NOTES
Additional Information:This two story commercial vernacular building is constructed of brick. It has a large brick corbelled cornice with brickwork that suggests brackets. The upper level windows are partially enclosed, but were originally round arched openigs decorated with simmple brick arches. Pilasters accent one end of the building that was probably the central entry to a larger building, half of which is covered over to the north by stucco. The storefront features large show windows, permastone aprons, a recessed entrance, and rectangular awnings.

This building has some architectural interest as an example of commercial vernacular architecture.

This was the original location of M. Wagner and Fred Rueping's general store, opened in 1878. By 1880, though, the store was being operated as M. Wagner Dry Goods and it operated here until 1904. It was later a millinery store, then the longtime home of Brauer's clothing store.

This building has some historical interest as th home of a long time business in Fond du Lac, the Wagner Dry Goods Company, and later Brauer's store.
