Additional Information: | Photo code #2: 74FD-27/19. This two story commercial vernacular building is constructed of red brick. It has a simple metal cornice at the top of the building. Under it is a row of brick corbelling suggesting brackets. The upper floor windows are single light double hung sashes decorated with segmental brick arches. The storefront has been remodeled with modern show windows, a modern paneled door in the recessed entrance, permastone aprons, and a large panel of vertical wood boards covering the transom. This building has some architectural interest as an example of the commercial verncular style of architecture. This building, throughout its history, has housed a saloon or tavern, except during prohibition, when it housed a soda fountain. |
