NOTES
Additional Information:"The unknown designer of this store appears to have been influenced by the Prairie School style, as evidenced in the wide, plain corner pilasters. Built for Roy Paylow of hollow tile supported by a steel frame, the facade is sided in brown brick. The interior of the building, one of the most intact to be found in the commercial buildings in the historic district, features a high, stamped tin ceiling.

The first floor has been used for a dry goods store, grocery store, used office equipment and surplus store, an alcohol-free bar, and an antique store. The second floor has been used for living quarters.

Paylow, a native of Hungary, operated a department store in the J. A. Schmitz Block beofre building his new store." Mazomanie Downtown Historic District, Mazomanie Historical Society, 1993.
