NOTES
Additional Information:TO BE DEMOLISHED IN NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER OF 1995. This two and a half story house features an irregular shaped plan configuration, a cut stone foundation, a clapboard exterior, a wood shingled trim, and an asphalt covered gable roof. Intersecting on the facade is a gable, further distinguished by a large pent roof. A wide variety of siding and trim treatments are visible, especially within the open gable ends. Brackets appear at the eaves and bracketed turned posts support the roof of the front porch. This former single family residence has been converted at an unspecified date to a duplex. The duplex, which is in good condition, was owned by Robert A. Jones in 1982. (Another map code for this building is RO-124/1). This building is architecturally significant in that it represents a type, period, or method of construction. Historical Statement: The residence was built in about 1890 for William H. Ashcraft, a prominent furniture dealer. (See Bib. Ref. A, B).
