Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This two-story simple Queen Anne house has a hip and gable roof with a projecting front gable. The eaves of the house and the gables are decorated with modillions. The house is covered with clapboards and windows are largely single light sashes. The large veranda has limestone piers supporting grouped round columns that support a flat roof decorated with modillions. There is a spool-and-spindle balustrade. This house is a good example of a simple variation of the Queen Anne style. This was the home of Jay P. McDermott between 1907 and 1926. McDermott was an insurance agent. Initial research indicates that the occupants of this house are not historically significant. |
