NOTES
Additional Information:POLYGONAL TOWER ON CNRHEX. ROOFING SHINGLES ON WALLS [Date Cnst:(RON LARSON)] 2016- "This is McFarland's most impressive example of Queen Anne architecture, complete with a round turret, steep and multiple roofs and open gables. The original siding was shingle covering reflecting the Shingle Style that was popular from 1885-1902. E.N. Edwards needed a larger home than the one at 6003 Exchange Street and had this one built. He sold it in 1904 to Frank Siggelkow who owned it until his death in 1941. Originally the house was part of a farm and Frank sold off sections of the farm in 1905, 1919, and 1924. Paula Downing purchased the once grand house in 1987 on foreclosure and spent a great deal of time and money restoring it inside and out. The house has 4000 square feet. Paula established the Downing 6142 Exchange Street LLC, which now has ownership." -"Historic McFarland: A Walking Tour" booklet, Third printing, published by the McFarland Historical Society, (March 2016). 2021 - Windows and siding have been replaced, the front porch has been altered, and architectural details have been removed.
