Additional Information: | BELLCAST MANSARD ROOF ON HOUSE AND TOWER. BALUSTRADED TOWER ROOF. The two front porches were added later; the house originally had six porches. Ole Torgerson (1856-1936) was born in Wisconsin to Norwegian parents. He was a Stoughton postmaster and owned one of the first cars in town. In 1919, his daughter Maude Olson and her husband Henry bought the house. It remained in their family until 1965. Methodist church choir practices were held in the parlors. |
