Additional Information: | ELABORATE PORCH. STICK PANELS W/SHINGLE WORK WOOD SHINGLES IN GABLES. According to tax records, the house was built in either 1895 or 1896. According to the 1900 census, Leo was born in Norway in 1845. He came to the United States in 1853 and married Wisconsin native Arme in 1865. They had 10 children; 8 were still living in 1900. In 1900, 4 kids still lived at home. Christ was born in October of 1876 and worked on a farm. Daughters were Sophia (November, 1878), Alma M. (January, 1883) and Clara B. (March, 1885). Mary Holtan, a boarder from Norway, also lived with the family. She was born in December of 1812. |
