NOTES
Additional Information:SEGMENTAL ARCHED WINDOW OPENINGS ON THE MAIN FACADE HAVE MODERN ONE-OVER-ONE-LIGT WINDOWS WITH SNAP-ON MUNTINS. SEGMENTAL-ARCHED ENTRANCE ALSO FILLED WITH REPRODUCTION ELEMENTS

2008- "This modest, previously surveyed, two-story-tall, rectilinear plan Commercial Vernacular form building has walls that are clad in cream brick and a main fagade that faces south onto E. Main St. A difference in the brick color of this facade's first and second stories suggests that the current appearance of the first story may be the result of a recent restoration. This story is now symmetrical in design and has two segmental-arch window openings that flank a centered, arched entrance door opening. Both of the first story's six-over-six-light windows (which have snap-in muntins) and its entrance door are modern, identical modern six-over-six-light windows now almost fill the second story's three original segmental-arched window openings, and the fagade is crowned by its original wood cornice. The second story of the building's west-facing side elevation also features segmental-arched window openings as well, but both these and the elevation's flat-arched first story window openings now contain modern windows.

The sole Sanborn-Perris map of Waunakee shows that this building was built prior to 1894, probably ca.1880, and a stone plaque located in the center of the upper portion of the main facade bears the inscription "IOOF 126," which indicates that a portion of the building was once the lodge of Chapter 126 of the Independent Order Of Foresters, a fraternal organization."
-"Waunakee 7.5 Quad", WisDOT#5290-01-02, Prepared by Timothy F. Heggland, (2008).
