NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. SEGMENTAL ARCHED WINDOWS. PORCH ACROSS FRONT W/BALCONY ABOVE.

2008- "This previously surveyed T-plan Gable Ell form house occupies a large lot that is shaded by mature shade trees and it is set back twice as far (ca.50 feet) as any of the neighboring houses. This house is two-stories-tall, it is clad in red brick, and its multi-gable roof has wide overhanging open eaves that are supported by paired brackets; the latter being a feature that is closely associated with the ltalianate style. The main facade of the house faces south onto W. Main St. and the entire width of its first story is now sheltered by a full-width one-story screen porch whose flat roof is supported by large Tuscan Order wood columns and is edged by a turned balustrade that may be modern, judging from the height of its balusters. Window openings have segmental-arched heads and they typically contain one-over-one-light double hung wood sash windows.

This house was historically known as the Thomas B. O'Malley House, it is believed that it was built ca.1870, and it has recently (2006) been the subject of a comprehensive tax credit-driven restoration by Isthmus Architects of Madison. This house was determined through the Wisconsin Historic Homeowners Tax Credit Program application process to be eligible for individual listing in the state register, presumably for its potential architectural significance (Criterion C), but it may also have historic significance as well."
