NOTES
Additional Information:1982: DESCRIPTION: A small one story clapboard gabled commercial building with a rectangular false front with a simple cornice and brackets. The building measurers 16' x 20' and was built in 1920. The front symmetrical features facade features broad rectangular windows with a band of muntins and smaller panes across the top, vaguely Prairie School in style. A similar but smaller window is on the northwest side. The interior is presently vacant.

SIGNIFICANCE: This frame commercial building is architecturally significant as a locally rare example of this type of construction which was once very common in Ashland in the late 1870's and 1880's until larger frame, brick, or brownstone buildings replaced these fragile and increasingly too small buildings. This example, with an apparent construction date of ca 1920, is unmatched in preservation and design. All other commercial clapboard buildings have been severely altered in Ashland.

2017: No longer extant.
