NOTES
Additional Information:A group of German immigrants established a Lutheran congregation in the Town of Oakland in 1852. A congregation constructed a non-extant log church in 1859, named St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, and affiliated with the Lutheran Synod of Wisconsin. In 1883, the congregation voted to affiliate themselves with the Evangelical Synod of Wisconsin. A brick church was constructed to replace the log structure in 1889. All services at the church were conducted solely in German until 1917. The congregation voted to separate from the Evangelical Synod in 1931, becoming a free church under the name St. John Community Church. A large addition was constructed onto the front of the church in 1961. The congregation continues using the church to this day.
