NOTES
Additional Information:Late Picturesque house with multiple front end glaes on clapboard siding. All windows have been altered, but house is unusual because it once matched it's neighbor 709 MacArthur (26-5).

On 3 December 1887, the Ashland Press reported the yearly construction and, on that list was this house built by A.S. Collins, which was valued at $2,500. Deeds indicate that the house, which was built in 1887 by the Osborn Home Association, was sold within months of its completion, to Frank L. & Sarah Sanborn.

On 25 June 1887, an article in the Ashland Press entitled "Ashland's Progress" reads: "Rev. A.S. Collins has nearly completed a new and handsome residence on 7th Street in Vaughn & Humbird's Addition." In September the deed officially was transferred from the OHA to Collins (33/113, #6552) and within two months, sold to the Sanborns (33/430, #7185). Rev. Collins likely received a call to another church; hence his departure.
Rev. Collins may have resided in the home for a couple of months before it was sold to Frank L. Sanborn and his wife Sarah. Sanborn was the proprietor of Sanborn Bros., a brick manufacruting firm. In August 1891, the house was again sold, this time to Daniel Seyler, proprietor of the Novelty Iron Works.
