Additional Information: | SOME DECORATIVE BRICKWORK IN AREA ABOVE LARGE GLASS WINDOWS [Date Cnst:(A)] Description: Low one story department store, once operated by Montgomery Ward Co., that is now vacant. Broad glass storefront is surmounted by plain red brick frieze that includes some decorative brickwork. There are plans now to oopen a mini-mall inside. Significance: Although not a beautiful building, the building falls within the period of significance and offsets the intrusive properties across the street. It represents the only one of its kind in the district and still retains integrity. |
