Third Lake Ridge Historic District: A Walking Tour. 1987: "This unique court was created in 1914 by Madison developer H. C. Nichols. The hipped-roof bungalows were oriented to take advantage of the steep Lake Monona shoreline. Nichols also developed the four identical houses in front of these bungalows in 1912. A nineteenth-century ice house formerly occupied this site."
