The Wisconsin Historical Society Speakers Bureau offers an exciting opportunity for our historians, curators and authors to visit your community and share the stories of our great state.
Join author Susan Apps-Bodilly for an afternoon of storytelling about a time when Wisconsin's rural children attended one-room schools. Her book One Room Schools chronicles the experiences of the students and role of the teachers while also highlighting that one room schools were more than just centers of learning: they also served as the gathering place for the community. One Room Schools will transport young readers back in time and make their grandparents and others of that generation nostalgic—perhaps even prompting them to share memories of their school days.
