In August 2018, Shan Holt, great granddaughter of Lucy Rumsey Holt, identified the location of this photograph. Cathedral Woods, now known as Cathedral Pines and part of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, is open to the public as a Wisconsin State Natural Area. Lucy Rumsey Holt is responsible for the conservation of this stand of old growth pine-hemlock forest. See similar image IDs: 139310 and 139313. |
