Waupun Correctional Institution
Text on front reads: "Waupun Correctional Institution." On reverse: "Waupun Correctional Institution. Located two blocks from Main Street on Madison Street, it is a state prison for convicted male felons. The site was selected by a prison commission appointed by the Wisconsin Legislature in 1851." The outer wall of the prison, built of limestone with wrought iron gate and grills. The original Gothic Revival main building can be seen inside. Cars are parked at the curb. |
