Two Cutters on the Road
Two cutter sleighs on a road. Cutters were light weight sleighs that carried two passengers. This photograph shows bare ground in the background that means that the sleighing season was almost over. The end of sleighing was always a time of regret for Wisconsinites during the nineteenth century because of the comparatively fast speeds of which sleighs were capable. |
