President Harry S. Truman greets a crowd from the back platform of a NorthWestern train at the Commercial Ave. crossing. Others with him from the left are Governor Oscar Rennebohm, Mrs. Truman, and Mrs. Rennebohm. He came for a 5 1/2 hour visit, gave a "peace" address to the nation from the UW field House and dedicated the new CUNA building on Sherman Ave. The man in dark glasses standing at the bottom right is U.S. Secret Service officer Floyd Boring. |
