International Harvester Company employees sometimes stamped photographs with the words 'negative destroyed.' The stamp indicated that they considered an image to be obsolete and wanted the negative destroyed. This would prevent someone from accidentally using an outdated photograph in an advertisement or other company publication. For a small fee WHS staff can remove the words from the image during the reproduction process. |
