Seated on a Lake Mendota pier are left to right: Don Williams, Madison, a University of Wisconsin senior and member of Hoofers Club; Edward Bainbridge, commodore of the University of Michigan Yacht Club, and Paul Moore, Chicago, president of the Midwest Collegiate Yachting association. Five universities that are members of the Midwestern Collegiate Yacht Association--Wisconsin, Michigan, Purdue, Ohio State and Denison--were in Madison to compete in the Hoofer invitational, one of the series of big regattas being held among colleges of the Midwest. |
