Photograph taken from a series of southern Indiana scenes showing the aftermath of the "tri-state tornado" of March 18, 1925. The tornado passed through Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana, killing nearly 700 people. In response to an appeal from John Covert of the Indiana Farm Bureau Relief, International Harvester sent twenty tractors and plows to Princeton, Indiana, and twelve tractors to Griffin, Indiana. The tractors arrived in Princeton on March 29, 1925. Local farmers used the equipment to plow their fields and plant their crops. |
