The caption reads: "Carl Nyberg, Spokane contractor, knows absolute dependability in motor trucks - that's why he has eleven Internationals working for him on his 14 miles of the approach road from the Sunset Highway to the Grand Coulee dam, the main artery of transportation to the dam until the railroad is built. Awarded the contract, he was confronted with the necessity of handling 108,000 yards of crushed rock and 8,000 yards of binder between March 10 and July 1. To assure completion on time, Mr. Nyberg laid out a working schedule of four 5-hour shifts daily and turned the hauling over to International trucks. He has six of his own on the job and five others hired from A.J. Lynch, another Spokane International owner." Image taken directly from "International Trail" magazine. |
