Located in downtown Milwaukee and bounded by the Milwaukee River just south of the commercial core of the city, this 12-block district contains 71 multi-story warehouses of industrial structures built mostly of brick between 1892 and 1928. Retaining its turn-of-the-century character, this combined wholesale and manufacturing district was rebuilt after a fire in 1892.
