Pioneer houses built in the 1850s on Watertown Plank Road initially sparked development interest in this area, renamed East Capitol Drive. These 29 historic residences were built between 1850 and 1935 in Queen Anne, Shingle, Spanish Colonial Revival, Bungalow, Dutch Colonial Revival and Tudor Revival styles and were inhabited by bankers, entrepreneurs and physicians.
