HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

Originally named Chapman Hall in memory of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Chapman, the building provided classrooms, offices, a gymnasium and a lecture hall for the Seminary. UWM re-named the building for Carroll G. Pearse (1858-1948), who was president of the Milwaukee Normal School from 1913 to 1923.
