On Friday, October 19, 1900, an audience of 900, including members of the Society, state legislators, university faculty, and other invited guests assembled to celebrate the culmination of a dream — a new home for history.

On Thursday, October 19, 2000, present and former Society staff, along with invited guests, gathered throughout the day to commemorate the historic dedication of a historic building and "A Century at 816 State Street."
