Salary: Starting salary is $22.000 per hour ($45,900 per year), plus excellent benefits. This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04.

This position is located in the Division of Library-Archives at the Wisconsin Historical Society in Madison, Wisconsin.

This is a twenty month full-time project position which is being supported by a federal grant received from the Institute for Museum and Library Services. This position coordinates the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services Wisconsin Connection to Collections Grant implementation. This position works under the supervision of the Preservation Coordinator. The position requires travel throughout Wisconsin on a regular basis.

A Well Qualified Candidate Will Have:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management ability.
- Experience working with the preservation of collections in a cultural heritage institution, such as a library, archives or museum.
- Experience planning meetings or conferences, or coordinating grant projects for cultural heritage institutions.
- Experience preparing and teaching workshops for cultural heritage institutions.
- Knowledge of preservation and preservation management as it applies to cultural heritage objects.
- Graduate school coursework towards a professional degree in museum studies, library science or similar academic preparation for work in a cultural heritage institution.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to write, design, edit and produce a wide variety of written materials such as business letters, workshop and program announcements, project or grant reviews and educational materials.
- Demonstrated ability to employ a wide variety of techniques: lectures, demonstrations, programs and workshops to provide educational materials about preservation and preservation management.
- Proficient computer skills- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
- Knowledge of the theory and concepts of the preservation of both paper and three-dimensional artifact collections as they relate to proper care of collections and disaster planning and salvage.
- Knowledge, skills and ability to implement instruction on preservation care of collections and disaster planning and salvage.
- Knowledge, skills and ability to implement online surveys, data collection and analysis and reporting.
- Ability to coordinate and plan meetings and workshops.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with partner institutions and staff.
- Ability to set priorities and complete projects to meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel independently within Wisconsin as necessary.
- Able to legally operate a motor vehicle from the Wisconsin Department of Administration State Fleet in the State of Wisconsin.
- Experience with and understanding of professional fiscal and purchasing practices and procedures.
