Introduction
The Wisconsin Historical Museum is currently seeking a friendly, outgoing individual for a part-time visitor service position. A visitor services employee is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and friendly atmosphere for visitors.
Job Duties
- Open and close museum (daily)
- Greet visitors (when no info desk volunteer available) (daily)
- Coordinate group visits with education staff (daily)
- Security monitoring (daily)
- Building and grounds light maintenance (daily)
- Program setup and tear down (weekly)
- Replace light bulbs as needed (weekly)
- Breakdown and disposal of cardboard (weekly)
Special Notes
- A criminal background check will be conducted prior to offer of employment to determine if the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job.
- The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires employers to hire only individuals who are eligible to work in the United States. Upon reporting for work, an individual will be expected to present proper evidence establishing employability.
- State residency required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Time Commitment
20 hours per week with a flexible schedule running from 8 am-4:30 pm Tuesday – Saturday.
