This position is in the Division of Administrative Services,
Human Resources Section of the Wisconsin Historical Society.
Job Duties:
- Greet visitors in the Headquarters’ lobby and orient
visitors to areas on our four floors. Help visitors by answering
questions ranging from "Where’s the restroom?"
to "Where can I find information abour my great grandfather?"
- Use reference materials to assist out-of-town visitors with
questions about downtown Madison or the Wisconsin Historical
Society.
Shifts:
Weekdays: 9:00-1:00, or 1:00-4:00
Time Commitment:
A minimum of two shifts per month (with flexibility for vacations
or other personal commitments)
Special Notes:
- A criminal background check will be conducted prior to
offer of employment to determine if the circumstances of any
conviction may be related to the job.
- The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires
employers to hire only individuals who are eligible to work
in the United States. Upon reporting for work, an individual
will be expected to present proper evidence establishing employability.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships
with agency staff, utility representatives, government officials,
consumer groups, and the public.
