Type of Employment: Full Time (40hrs/week)

Salary: The pay range for this position is between $20.960 and $31.130 per hour ($43,765 to $65,000 per year) plus excellent benefits. This is a represented position in pay schedule and range 07-03. A six-month probationary period will be required.

Job Duties:

  1. Analyze, design and maintain web applications
    • Meet with agency management and staff to define/review/determine feasibility, establish system scope, goals, business requirements, objectives, and perform cost benefit analysis
    • Oversee system testing and implementation.
  2. Perform complex design and programming activities for web applications
    • Develop and oversee detailed web application designs.
    • Design, program, test and debug applications to meet Society business needs.
    • Provide necessary programming modifications and/or maintenance of applications.
    • Oversee internal and external application development to ensure quality and compliance of web applications.
  3. Develop and manage business-critical databases
    • Develop and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases.
    • Manage database users, including adding, modifying and deleting users.
    • Create and maintain all schema objects - tables, views, packages, jobs, functions, triggers, sequences, constraints, indexes, etc.
    • Maintain data integrity and correct data problems as needed.
    • Migrate users and all user objects from development to production instance.
    • Create data exports on request.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with all the following programming languages: ASP, ASP.NET, JavaScript, html/xhtml, CSS 2, XML/XSL.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with all of the following databases: Oracle 10g/PL-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL and Microsoft Access 2000/2003.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with web-based e-commerce processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with web technologies, including XMLHTTP, AJAX, and RSS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Rapid Application Development tools, including Microsoft Visual Studio Professional.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Oracle Reports 10
  • Basic knowledge of PHP, ColdFusion, Perl.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and frequently interact with small teams from start to finish developing complex web applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-review efficiency and productivity and to propose new approaches to solving problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to be responsive to client requests and questions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop self-maintaining code and processes, comprehensive error checking/logging and user-friendly error pages.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems with applications written in unfamiliar languages.

Please describe significant web applications you have developed and a description of your role in developing the application. Please specify the development languages you are currently using to develop applications, the internet technologies you have experience with, and which development tools you have used. Please specify your experience developing and maintaining e-commerce applications.
  3. What experience do you have developing and maintaining databases? Please include specific database applications and versions, your experience managing database users and objects, the size of the largest database you developed (number of records), and the development tools you are most familiar with. Also describe your experience maintaining data quality and the methods used to ensure data quality. Finally, describe your experience importing and exporting data from various data formats.
