Wisconsin Archaeology Employment Opportunities
The Museum Archaeology Program hires field archaeologists for each field season.
The Museum Archaeology Program conducts surveys, evaluations, and excavations for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources throughout the state.
The field season extends from mid-March to mid-November, although shorter periods of employment are available. Wages will be based upon education and field experience. Positions for Field and Laboratory Work are available for qualified individuals. Internships and Work Study positions are available for those students seeking archaeological experience. Members of the public interested in archaeology can volunteer with the Program.
