Floral Analysis
(Paleoethnobotany)
Comparative Collections
The Paleoethnobotany Lab primarily relies on modern floral collections for comparative purposes. Collections include more than 1100 taxa collected primarily from the Upper Great Lakes and Midwest. In addition, lab staff refer to herbarium and arboretum collections available at the University of Wisconsin. The herbarium includes collections from throughout the world; the arboretum focuses primarily on Wisconsin flora and prairie plants in particular. Archaeobotanical collections from throughout Wisconsin also are available for comparative purposes.
