s more photographic sources and techniques were introduced, they slowly changed the visual quality of advertising posters. A single photographic image dominates this poster. Though still graphically striking, this poster lacks the complex coloring, crayon-like texture, and gestural quality that characterized the best color lithographs of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
