Dance around the midsommarstang (maypole), decorate the sauna with greens and try samples fresh from the Norwegian kitchens!  Come explore how a centuries old celebration of summer flourished in Wisconsin with traditions kept alive by Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian immigrants.

On Sunday join the Swedish Heaitage Festival on The Green.  This free event is hosted by the SAHS of WI and includes dancing, a parade, a midsommarstang (maypole) and music.  They will also be hosting the playing of Kubb.

Enjoy a Scandinavian Buffet on Sunday in the Clausing Barn Loft serving from 11:30 am to 2 pm.  The menu includes meatballs, potatoes, rice pudding, cucumber salad and of course Lingonberries! Reservations are not required.  Price is $16 for adults and $10 for children (5-10).  Children under 4 are free.

For a more indepth expereince register to celebrate Midsommar with a traditional sauna and Finnish breakfast, tucked in the beauty of the Ketola Immigrant Farmstead.

Location Information

Old World Wisconsin documents the settlement of 19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin. It comprises an 1870s crossroads village and 10 ethnic farmsteads located on 576 acres of wooded hills in the Southern Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest.
