The Flavor of Wisconsin: Sweet and Savory Holiday Traditions
Terese Allen, co-author of The Flavor of Wisconsin: An Informal History of Food and Eating in the Badger State
, will talk about the ethnic diversity of Wisconsin's holiday foods including Mexican tamales, Danish kringle and Armenian mavish. She will also prepare a sampling of Belgian boonoh cookies for all to enjoy and then share recipes for these and other dishes from her books. Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa while you find a new food for your holiday table. A family craft project will also be ongoing. Join your kids or leave them at the crafts area to create a priceless present while you give yourself a culinary respite from the hustle and bustle of the season. Need the perfect gift?
