Red Power Roundup

Red Power Roundup, the 20th annual worldwide gathering of the International Harvester Collectors Club, will take place at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison from Thursday through Friday, July 23-25. Event organizers expect more than 25,000 people to attend the event, which includes displays of more than 1,000 tractors, 200 trucks and hundreds of pieces of farm machinery dating from the 1800s to today. More than 100 vendors selling tractors, parts, machinery and memorabilia will be on hand for the international event. Case International Harvester of Racine will also present a display of new farm equipment.

On Thursday at 3 p.m. country music artist Craig Morgan will perform in the Arena Building, an appropriate choice for the venue since one of his big hits is the song "International Harvester," which tells the story of a "… God-fearin', hard-workin' combine driver hoggin' up the road … on my International Harvester." On Friday author and humorist Michael Perry, who wrote the popular books Truck: A Love Story and Population: 485, will serve as parade marshal for a parade of International Harvester trucks and tractors from the Alliant Center to the the Wisconsin Historical Society. The parade vehicles will leave Alliant Center at 10:30 a.m. and will be on display at the Society from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. before returning to the Alliant Center.

This event is a fundraiser, with proceeds going to support the Wisconsin Historical Society's International Harvester Company Collection.
