Taste Traditions of Wisconsin: Lumberjack Brunch and Book Discussion of Out of the Northwoods
Gain a new appreciation for the classic Paul Bunyan tales you remember, and introduce your children to this larger-than-life folk hero. Michael Edmonds, author of
Out of the Northwoods: The Many Lives of Paul Bunyan, will discuss how the Paul Bunyan stories were created in Wisconsin's northwoods lumber camps and why the media embraced these legends in postwar America. Children will join museum storytellers in the theater and discover Bunyan through tales of his exploits. The program will begin with a hearty lumberjack brunch from 11 am to noon. A book signing will follow the program.
Taste Traditions of Wisconsin is a monthly series that highlights Wisconsin's rich culinary heritage through food, history and sharing stories.
