Local History and Museums Workshop: Basic Fundraising, from Annual Appeal to Capital Campaign
The Wisconsin Historical Society and the Wisconsin Federation of Museums are proud co-sponsors of this workshop, one in a series of spring workshops for local history organizations and museums.
Before your organization considers a capital campaign, you should have experience in annual fundraising in order to practice, develop and cultivate a base of donors. This session will cover annual fundraising, developing a fundraising plan based on your strategic plan, involving the board of directors, and preparing a calendar of action steps needed to implement the plan. All aspects of annual fundraising will be covered, including direct mail, events and major gifts. You'll also learn how to choose what's best for your organization. The session will end with how to take this plan and use it to develop a capital campaign.
