History Sandwiched In: The Death of the Fishing Vessel, Linda-E
Learn about the mystery of a missing Milwaukee fishing boat and its crew. On a calm December day in 1998, the fish tug Linda-E departed Milwaukee to lift two miles of gill nets so it could deliver its catch of chubs to Smith Brothers Food Service of Port Washington. Neither the boat nor any members of its crew ever returned to port. They left no wreckage, oil slick or debris. Join diver Hank Whipple, retired lawyer and former Wisconsin Historical Society Board of Curators member, and look over the shoulders of the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy as they unravel the mystery of this Lake Michigan whodunit.
History Sandwiched In is an informal, brown-bag lunch-and-lecture series held the first and third Tuesdays of the month. You are invited to bring a lunch and enjoy a program of historical perspective.
