Movies On Demand: 'A Braves New World'
When the Braves relocated from Boston to Milwaukee in 1953, it served as the catalyst for baseball to re-examine itself as a big business, resulting in a flurry of franchises relocating west, multi-league expansion and cities held hostage to build civically funded stadiums. This 60-minute Milwaukee Public Television documentary from 2009 was produced by William Povletich, author of
'Milwaukee Braves: Heroes and Heartbreak.'Movies on Demand is a free movie series in conjunction with the exhibit "Wisconsin Innovations: From the Iconic to the Unexpected."
