Movies On Demand: 'World's Greatest Showmen'
Experience the excitement and pageantry of the circus and its colorful history in this entertaining 77-minute movie from 2006. A century ago the Big Top dominated the entertainment landscape. See how Wisconsin came to be the home to many of the era's traveling caravans, as well as the birthplace of the Ringling Bros.' "Greatest Show on Earth."
The circus history is told through archival photos and posters, historical film footage, dramatizations of key characters, including Bob Uecker as the voice of Barnum, and re-enactments of major events. This enchanting look at a treasured part of America's cultural history also includes present-day performance footage from Circus World in Baraboo and a visit to the modern Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Movies on Demand is a free movie series in conjunction with the exhibit "Wisconsin Innovations: From the Iconic to the Unexpected."
