'Bottoms Up' Book Talk at Madeline Island Museum
Join Jim Draeger, co-author of "Bottoms Up: A Toast to Historic Bars & Breweries," and Mark Fay, photographer for the book, at the Madeline Island Museum on Madeline Island for a book talk about the development of Wisconsin bar architecture and culture. Following the talk there will be a happy hour toast to the book at nearby Tom's Burned Down Café, a most unusual tavern featured in the Wisconsin Historical Society Press book. : The museum, composed of three historic island structures and the modern Capser Center, contains exhibits detailing Wisconsin history from 17th-century exploration and the era of the fur trade to the arrival of summer tourists, known as cottagers, in the early 20th century.
