'The Quiet Season' Book Talk in Madison with Jerry Apps
Join Wisconsin Historical Society Press author Jerry Apps as he discusses his newest book, "The Quiet Season: Remembering Country Winters." In this memoir, Apps recalls winters growing up on a farm in central Wisconsin. During the latter years of the Great Depression through World War II, Wisconsin winters were a time of reflection, of planning for next year, and of families drawing together. Apps will sign copies of 'The Quiet Season'
following the presentation.
Jerry Apps has been a rural historian and environmental writer for more than 40 years and has published fiction and nonfiction books on many rural topics, including "Limping through Life: A Farm Boy's Polio Memoir," "Old Farm: A History," Garden Wisdom: Lessons Learned from 60 Years of Gardening," "Ringlingville USA," "Casper Jaggi: Master Swiss Cheese Maker" and "Horse-Drawn Days: A Century of Farming with Horses" for the Wisconsin Historical Society Press.
