Magic at the Movies: The Forgotten 'Spook' Shows of the '30s-'50s
Join nationally recognized Milwaukee magician & illusionist David Seebach to learn about a forgotten chapter of entertainment history. Beginning in the 1930s magicians went on the road with 'ghost shows' that played at midnight at movie theaters, often in conjunction with a grade B (or lower) horror picture. Mr. Seebach will describe a typical presentation & reveal a few backstage secrets used to thrill the crowds when the lights went out. And, he'll tell how he has re-created this attraction, more elaborate than any of its predecessors, for the last fifteen years at a reportedly haunted theater in Milwaukee.
