Autumn Lamplight Tours: Love & Courtship


Take part in 19th-century rituals of love and courtship amid the period setting of Old World Wisconsin's historic buildings. Led by lamplight from farmstead to farmstead in Old World Wisconsin's German area, the stories of young couples embarking on new lives together will be told through a series of theatrical vignettes including a controversial engagement, a wedding reception dance, and an old-time shivaree. Reservations required.

Location Description: Old World Wisconsin documents the settlement of 19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin. It comprises an 1870s crossroads village and 10 ethnic farmsteads located on 576 acres of wooded hills in the Southern Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest.
