The Mississippi: Our First Interstate Highway
The North American continent is fortunate to have a system of rivers which eventually connected 32 of our United States. The main artery is this system is the Mississippi River. Join Roald Tweet, retired professor from Augustana College, as he shares with us how this river came to be; how it was used by Native Americans, explorers, fur traders, and immigrants; and how, it was eventually ¿tamed¿ by the Corps of Engineers.
