Virginia Woolf's "Mrs. Dalloway"
Enjoy a free screening of the 1997 movie version of British writer Virginia Woolf's 1925 novel "Mrs. Dalloway," which tells the intertwined stories of two very different people on a single day in London around 1920. The film, starring Vanessa Redgrave and Rupert Graves, is the first offering in a third season of free film screenings called the Classic Book and Movie Club. Susan Friedman, University of Wisconsin-Madison professor of English and women's studies, will introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion. The Classic Book and Movie Club is a joint venture of the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research, and The Capital Times.
