Near today's Lexington, Missouri, the current remained so strong that they could neither row nor sail against it and were compelled to tow the boat much of the day once again.

Set out. Clouday day, Rain. Strong water. past Several Isds. Came 12 miles. ouer Hunters Did not Return Last night. encamped on an Isd in the middel of the River.
